8-Hour AOD Education

This 8-hour course is provided on two consecutive Saturday mornings each month. The program consists of:

Physiological effects of alcohol/drugs
Effects of alcohol/drugs on driving. Alcohol content, its calculation and effects on driving performance
Psychological and sociological consequences of use and abuse of alcohol/drugs
Current DUI laws and possible penalties
Community resources and interventions
Review of treatment approaches and various programs
Self-assessment of alcohol and drug use
Alternatives to drinking alcohol/using other drugs and driving
Personal perspective (LEO/Victim)
